Where To Stay

Elevate your Antlers, Oklahoma vacation and stay at a unique cabin from a host on AirBnb. Our personal recommendation (and we can’t recommend her enough) is Airbnb Host Diantha. She has three cabins available for rent at her horse ranch. Each Oklahoma cabin sits on the shores of a large, spring-fed pond. Once a gravel pit, the miners struck the spring and the pond has been filled with clear and fresh water ever since. Perfect for swimming, fishing, and sitting on the bank with a fire and smores.

Diantha also offers horse rides for an additional fee for those so inclined.

Included in your stay is access to the large pond in front of the cabins and the small pond behind the cabins, access to the paddle boat, access to the john boat, a personal fire pit and wood, and access to two trails circling each of the ponds. The cabins are fully equip with A/C, hot water, grills, kitchenettes, and porch swings. Such a paradise that your family may never want to leave!

Shopping

When exploring the town be sure and spend part of the day checking out the shops in town. Don’t miss the ole’ Trading Post on the outskirts of Antlers, Oklahoma. Here you will find something for the whole family and at good prices! Not found on Google Maps are some hidden gems down High Street on the 100 and 200 blocks. There are boutiques, a church donation thrift store, and an eclectic store with a mix of new and old. Drive by, see which catches your fancy, and stop by. Everyone in the town is friendly and welcoming! You can’t go wrong. If you’re still feeling thrifty, head on down to the East Town Village shopping mall where you can find another donation store (conveniently across the street from the trading post).

Antlers doesn’t seem like a shopping destination at first but once you dig, the gems revel themselves.

Where To Eat

Feeling hungry? There are many family owned restaurants to choose from in the town of Antlers, Oklahoma. From BBQ to chicken to Mexican food. All have good reviews! However, you must try Marcos Mexican Restaurant in the heart of downtown Antlers. They have free queso! I mean they also have free chips and salsa but so does every other Mexican Restaurant. Free queso is new to me (and I’m a Texan… we eat Mexican food a lot) and it was delicious!

Elephant Sanctuary

A little outside of the small town of Antlers, Oklahoma you can find an Elephant Sanctuary. Old circus elephants, mostly Asian Elephants, live out their days in their own patch of Oklahoma paradise. Here you can interact with the elephants and even touch them! This is a bucket-list stop for many!

Proceeded from your visit go towards caring for and housing these magnificent creatures.

Wildlife Heritage Center Museum

Don’t head out of Antlers without stopping at the Wildlife Heritage Center Museum! Here you can find some history of the area, admire many animal and aquatic mounts, and visit the town deer. Yes, town deer. You can’t call yourself the Deer Capital of the World without your own town deer. And we’re not talking resident wild deer. These deer are captive. It is an awesome experience to hand feed white-tail deer but it is sad to see the girls in a small enclosure… they’re a bit skittish and not as happy as they would be in the wild.
